Don’t you just love the gifts of dandelions? You know the Five Iron Frenzy song called “Dandelions,” don’t you? My son (who is about your age) chuckles because I always cry when I hear it.. (Ok “Rainbow Connection” also makes me cry and the last verse of “I want to walk as a child of the light.” (and half a dozen other hymns…)

I’m glad you can relax with the dirt/ grass stains/ mud/ wet that just is part of the little boy “package.” Does Elias have rubber boots for walking through mud puddles? If not this year, maybe next….. Those are as important in NW Oregon a having an assortment of balls and Duplos!

The best adventures with folks of Elias’s age are messy. One of my favorite pictures of my son Jon from about that age was when he got into my flour barrel (a 5 gallon plastic container in which I kept flour sans bag) and is sort of ghosty looking. He was a little older when he started “doing experiments” in the kitchen…. one time putting vanilla in some turkey soup I was making….. There is NO way to correct turkey soup stock that has had vanilla added.
I wish you and Elias many more messy adventures………. This is such a wonderful age.

It’s so true! Elias is growing sooo fast, but you will love each age and the surprises they bring. I know that being a grandma is wonderful and each new development brings new joy!

My favorite part of Elias’ smiles ministry on Sunday was the “uh oh” he shared with the congregation when it was time to go up for communion and the giggles that followed!
