Pumpkin Patch

Elias inspecting a pumpkin on the ground.

We checked another item off of the Smith Family Fall Bucket List yesterday. We went to the pumpkin patch! We wanted to get some pumpkins which we will eventually carve and display on our balcony, but we also just wanted to get outside and enjoy fall.

Elias seemed to enjoy the time we spent at the farm. He crawled and toddled a little in the dirt and mud. He touched many pumpkins. But his favorite activity was pushing the big red wagon we used to carry our pumpkins. Unfortunately, it was not very easy for him because the ground was very uneven, and the wagon seemed to move faster than his little legs could keep up….so he ended up on his knees a lot. But he wanted to keep trying time after time. Below are some pictures from our time:

Elias standing with our first pumpkin. He is trying to push it around in the wagon.

Elias trying to push the wagon uphill. He worked so hard!

Are these two related or what? Daddy and Elias wear the same expression when searching for pumpkins.

Elias and Mommy stop to smile for the camera.

Elias wasn't sure what the pumpkins were for....but they made good percussion instruments!

E’s expression does match N’s in the one picture, but in the next his smile is exactly the same as K’s — a lovely fusion of the two of you!

It looks like you all had so much fun! I love to see the wonder in Elias’ face when he gets to experience new things.
