Oregon State Fair (In Pictures)

We celebrated our extra day together as a family by heading to Salem for the last day of the Oregon State Fair. Nana came with us. Elias had a lot of fun looking at the animals. Here is our morning in pictures:

We looked at the cows first. Elias was sort of interested in them, but didn’t want to get too close (a good thing). As we walked by he said, “bye bye moos”.

Look at those horns! And the baby! I got to feed the brown cow in the background. I think I fed him apples. What fun!

The pigs were next. Elias saw these two and said, “Two pigs”.

Goats! Elias got a little nervous when this one tried to nibble on his pants…then actually did nibble on my sweater. Elias liked watching the goats a lot. They were noisy and a lot of them were eating, so Elias kept pointing them out and saying “eat!”

Awwww….cute. More goats.

Here is my not so stellar picture of an alpaca. What a cool animal.

Looking at the llamas with Nana. We got very close to one and even got to touch its fur. Elias declined to join us.

This picture is for Greg. Evergreen Aviation had a booth at the fair. I don’t think Elias really understood why I parked him in front of the helicopter for a picture. It is not even the exact model that Uncle Greg flies. But it’s close….right?

The one disappointment was that there was only one ride that Elias was tall enough to ride…the carousel. Even that was a bit much for him. The carousel moved very fast. You can see Elias holding on to Nathan’s shirt for dear life in the picture. We were glad he got to ride something…it was on our bucket list after all.

We were very glad we went. It was just a beautiful day to get out and about and try something new.
