Despite being somewhat depressed that baby #2 has still not made his appearance, we definitely made the most of our Saturday together. It is our last one as a family of three after all. We decided to head to the Oregon Zoo in the morning so that I could walk around a lot, and we could have some fun at the same time. We got to see the baby elephant, Lily, for the first time, and Elias was especially excited about the giraffes and the polar bears.
We headed home after a few cold hours of fun for lunch and nap. Then we headed to the pool yet again for open swim. I love the pool right now because it takes the weight off, and Elias loves to go to open swim with us…he is not a fan of lessons right now even though he does mostly the same things we do with him at open swim…that is a different story for another day. Anyway, Elias had a blast doing motor boats and singing the ABC’s while floating on his back, and doing jumps (real jumps! no holding our hands!).
After the pool we headed over to Sweet Tomatoes for our evening meal, and then came home to play and watch a little bit of Charlie Brown before bed. It really was a perfect day when I wasn’t thinking about being so pregnant. I’m glad we were able to have some family fun before everything in our lives is turned upside down!
Here are some pictures of our zoo adventures:
What a fun day! I’m glad that you got to do so many things for your last Saturday as a family of three!
