One of my best friends from childhood got married last weekend. When I first found out that she was getting married in Las Vegas during my summer school job, I thought there was no way I could go. But then, my Mom presented the idea of a girls weekend in Vegas…with Simon, of course. I talked with Nathan, and he decided it would be fun to have a weekend at home with just Elias. So to Vegas I went.
The trip was super fun. It was very special to have a weekend with my mom. And I was so happy to be at my friend’s wedding. But Vegas is not a family friendly place! Smoke everywhere! There were a few times where I had to tell Simon to avert his eyes…and be thankful that he wouldn’t remember it.
Mostly we just swam and relaxed, but we did have a few adventures…including a small flash flood! On Friday night, we went across the strip to M&M’s world. While we were inside, a thunderstorm started. We got emergency notices by text on our phone for flash flood danger. When we tried to cross the street back to the Monte Carlo where we were staying, we had to wade through almost knee deep water to get there. And I was carrying the stroller with Simon in it while doing so!
Here are some pictures of our fun weekend:
Getting ready for a Friday morning swim

Simon listening to loud thunder and lightening while we tried in vain to wait out the thunderstorm:
Saturday morning, our second trip to the pool. Simon floating along the lazy river!
Simon splashed a bit in the zero entry pool.
On Saturday after we swam, we decided to walk around the strip for a bit. We went to Bellagio for lunch. Simon fell asleep so he missed to conservatory and the fountains:
Saturday night we went to the wedding. Amanda was a beautiful bride!
When we made it back to the Monte Carlo, we stopped for a picture with some blue men:
It was such a fun trip! I had the best time going with you and Simon to Amanda’s wedding in Vegas!
Yes, there are many interesting things in Vegas but it is a fun place! Glad you had a good time-love the pics!
