We love having so much family in town, but sometimes it makes the holidays hectic. Luckily, we have a good system so that we get to spend time with everyone at some point. This year, the Smith side got Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Since Nathan worked Christmas Eve, though, we decided to invite Nana over the Saturday before Christmas too. It was interesting trying to explain to Elias that it wasn’t Christmas yet, but we were celebrating it anyway.
Despite all the technicalities, the boys enjoyed opening presents from Nana and from their cousins.
We got to spend all day with Nana. Elias loved playing games with Nana. She brought over the fixings for the traditional meal, and one of Nathan’s favorites of the year….Christmas burritos!
Oh…and Nathan says thanks for the Legos!
Just kidding! Elias received his first lego set from his cousins. Simon got in on the action as well.
It was a wonderful day even though it wasn’t truly Christmas.
We got to hang out with Nana on Christmas Eve as well. She came to watch the boys in their pageant, and then came over for some fun afterward. Here she is reading to Simon:
