Telling It Like It Is

Right around Christmas, Elias got hit with the coughing junk that is going around. A few days later, Simon came down with it as well. I was hopeful that I wouldn’t get anything, but unfortunately, my body has succumbed. I’ll fully admit that I don’t feel well, and probably don’t look well. It’s hard to swallow, though when your loved ones constantly tell it like it is.

Example #1: While we were preparing dinner, my husband said, “You look bad.”

Hmmm….wow.

Example #2: This morning Elias told me, “Your tummy looks broken.”

I’m pretty sure he was referring to the fact that my body has never really been the same since Simon was born. There is a lot of extra skin around my tummy, and it admittedly does not look very good…it just means I have carried two boys.
