This post is about a month late, but Elias turned six recently in our house. He got to celebrate his birthday many times. He got a card from his classmates at school, he celebrated at church with the birthday song and a birthday blessing, we celebrated just the five of us at home, he had a birthday party at the park with a pinata and some friends, and we celebrated with extended family as well.
Elias impresses me every day with his kindness and curiosity. In so many ways he is just a spunky little boy, and in others he shows maturity well beyond his years. I’ve really been reflecting how far he has come in the last few years in social and emotional skills.
For his birthday celebrations, Elias wanted cupcakes for his birthday parties with friends and family, but with just the five of us he wanted a chocolate cake.
Elias was also excited to open a gift from Uncle Greg and Auntie Shaina.
Elias picked Red Robins to celebrate with my side of the family, and Chang’s Mongolian Grill with Nana.
In many ways six still seems so young…but then I think that it is a third of the way to eighteen and I start feeling panicky inside. It is all going too fast! Happy (belated) birthday, Elias!
Happy Happy Birthday Elias! You are such a wonderful grandson too!
Happy Birthday Elias! Sounds like you had such fun celebrating!
