I want to be the kind of person that gets out into the community. I want Elias to be able to name Portland’s bridges because he’s actually seen them in person. I want to play outside at parks and take walks just to enjoy God’s creation. I want to eat picnics at the Rose Garden or the park blocks, or play in the fountains. I want Elias to care about his community.
So when a friend told me about the Oregon Symphony concert at water front park, I jumped at the chance to go. Elias and I met Nathan and we headed down to the concert. It was so much fun! Of course….I was changing a poopy diaper during the star spangled banner, and therefore could not stand….and despite our many attempts to keep Elias on the blanket, he still touched lots of goose poop…..and we had to miss the cool fireworks display in order to get Elias home for bed (he still stayed up an hour later than normal even though we left at intermission)….but we had a good time just enjoying time with each other, our surroundings, and the music. Overall a very happy evening.
