We took Elias to the pumpkin patch today. It was our second year in a row getting pumpkins from the farm rather than the grocery store. On our drive out to the farm, we were a bit nervous because we were pretty much in the middle of a torrential down pour. But by the time we reached the parking lot, it had stopped raining, and the sun even showed its face during our stay at the farm!
Elias enjoyed looking at the pumpkins. He wanted us to take many, many pumpkins in our wagon. After about ten minutes, though, he found the perfect one. We came home with three very large pumpkins (Each of us chose one). Stay tuned to see pictures of them carved in the next couple of days.
When we got home from the pumpkin patch, I baked an apple pie with some of
the apples from our apple picking excursion a couple weeks ago. Then we prepared our house for a fun dinner with some other couples from our church. Elias started screaming hysterically when they all came over (even though he’s seen them before many times). But he calmed down relatively quickly, and by the end of the night he was singing songs and playing with them. He even gave one of the older gentlemen a hug goodbye! Oh, the adventures of having a toddler.
We are just so thankful that we have opportunities to spend time with family and friends…both indoors and out!
