Pumpkin Patch Trip 2016

Whew! It’s been awhile since I wrote a blog post. Frankly, I’ve been exhausted.

Now on to the fun!

Each fall we like to visit a pumpkin patch. Usually we go with just our family, but this year we decided to switch it up and go with friends…and Grandpa too!

This afternoon after church we headed out to Lakeview Farms to meet our friends…only to discover that the parking lot was so full that they couldn’t admit any more people and closed for the day. After texting our friends, we headed toward Plumper Pumpkin Patch – our old family favorite. On the way there we saw many signs for other pumpkin patches which said they were closed due to capacity. We crossed our fingers that Plumper would have space for us!

It was a madhouse, but we made it! The boys had a blast playing on hay bales and tires and slides with some of their friends from church. They got to get very dirty as well which was exciting all in itself.

20161023_164347Have you ever seen a more bare pumpkin patch? We spent a bit of time looking through the few that were left but they were all rotten or broken. Luckily, we got to go to the pumpkin bob at Harman swim center yesterday, and the boys got pumpkins there. If we want more it’s probably going to come from Winco. I never thought I’d hear myself say that, but what is a mother to do when the pumpkin patch looks like the above?

After being disappointed by the patch, we decided to head to the hay ride. We stopped for a picture with Grandpa before walking up the hill

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch with family and friends…even with no pumpkins!
