Last weekend we had the privilege of being at the wedding of some of our old church friends. Hilary and Chuck moved away so that Hilary could go to medical school, and we’ve seen them only a couple times since. But we were very happy to be able to see them get married.

Weddings always bring a couple tears to my eyes. They are such happy occasions. Unfortunately, Elias was just not himself that day. We never did figure out why. He was really interested in the dancing, and I’m pretty sure he really wanted to go dance. But he never worked up the courage. Many people asked him, and he even ran out to the dance floor a couple times only to come running right back. He did enjoy watching very much. Here he is watching the dancers. Elias fell asleep in the car on the way home about 5:30 p.m. He was so tired that he barely woke up enough to just crawl into bed when we got home. He slept all the way until 6:30 the next morning. I know it’s not the longest sleep any toddler has ever done…but for Elias…it was very long!
I took a few pictures of him sleeping so peacefully before we changed him into pajamas. Going to the wedding, and seeing the mother-groom dance really made me sentimental. Marriage is a long way off for Elias at only three years old…but someday it will hopefully happen. I’ll be cherishing his preschool days for as long as they last.
