At the time of writing, the Dodgers are tied for last place in the National League West. The cellar. This comes on the heels of some recent success in 2008 and 2009 and in the midst of a lot of discord and uncertainty about the status and future of the team.
Be that as it may, I am still a fan. Being a Portland resident we have no choice but to root for a Major League club from a strange city. My fan loyalty is familial: my dad is a Dodgers fan, and so am I. Incidentally, my grandfather is a Cubs fan, so it is not an iron-clad family tradition. But Elias is a Dodgers fan too, whether he likes it or not. Observe him proudly sporting the team’s colors with me.
Send the Dodgers a picture of Elias in his blue shirt…… I’m sure it will strengthen their resolve to remain a team, solve whatever problems they are having and get themselves out of the cellar if they know that they have such a cute loyal fan.
Enjoy these days when you are still able to get away with deciding what Elias is interested in. Trust me; it won’t last 🙂
It makes me happy to see new Dodgers fans coming along. +1.
I just bought Audrey a Dodgers team card set for $1 out here in Yankees country.
